On our southern coast we offer forests as seen nowhere else. Explore by walking the myriad of trails, including the Aboriginal Bibbulum Track that extends from Perth to Albany, or by car on forest roads. The Treetop Walk between Denmark and Walpole, is an awe-inspiring experience in the canopy of ancient karri and tingle trees, unique to the South West. These growing coastal townships on picturesque inlets offer a wonderfully relaxing stay. Enjoy the local produce for sale, galleries, crafts and the experience of rural areas. A magnificent coastline of sheltered sandy coves, and wild rocky headlands await you - enjoy the view, swim and fish in the surf or still water. In spring the forest and coast are alive with colourful wild flowers unique to the area, which in turn attract the wild birds to their nectar.
To reach the coast from Perth you may travel the Western Highway through grazing country to picturesque Bridgetown on the Blackwood River- home to many music and flower festivals. Manjimup is the center of the timber industry that features strongly in WA's development. Take time to drive to Pemberton where you can experience climbing the Gloucester Fire Lookout tree, or travel slowly through the forest drives and National Parks, where you may be rewarded with a close encounter with Australian wildlife.
To the East lies the Albany Highway, an alternative route through Kojonup from Perth, which brings you through cool climate vineyards.
